Josef Rebenda

Assistant Professor and Researcher in mathematics at Brno University of Technology
Project Leader of the BoostEdu project. Dr. Rebenda is a researcher in mathematics at Central European Institute of Technology of Brno University of Technology (CEITEC BUT) in the Czech Republic. He teaches mathematics to engineering students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication. He is co-leader of the PLATINUM project (https://platinum.uia.no) co-funded by Erasmus+ and has headed several projects supported by EEA and Norway Grants. He is a member of the sigma Network for excellence in mathematics and statistics support. Dr. Rebenda has experience with organizing events in university mathematics education, open education and open science. His work in the BoostEdu project is oriented toward digital education design of learning and teaching mathematics for engineering students.
Oddgeir Tveiten

Oddgeir Tveiten

Professor in media studies, University of Agder. Professor in journalism studies, NLA University College
Founder and research head @ Future Learning Lab. Founder and head of World Learning Summit. Professor Tveiten teaches in Ethiopia and Uganda, along everyday work at Agder University in Southern Norway, where he coordinates a PhD program on Development, planning and communication. For the past decade professor Tveiten has also conducted regular workshops on Education Technology in Silicon Valley, USA. He is currently also on the faculty Board of the Social Science Faculty and member of the Social science Faculty´s Research Board. In the BoostEdu project, professor Tveiten conducts research on digital innovations of social sciences courses, particularly in the area of media and democracy.
Irina Severin

Irina Severin

Associate Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Robotics at University Politehnica of Bucharest
Vice-dean for International Relations of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Robotics at University Politehnica of Bucharest is responsible for the Faculty’s study programmes Industrial Engineering and Quality Engineering. She is responsible for several subjects taught in Romanian, English and French in bachelor and master studies. Professor Severin is certified by the Romanian Ministry of Justice as a technical expert for Quality Management and Customer Protection. She has been EFQM assessor since 2009. Engaged in numerous international projects in the field of education, institutional development and research, Irina Severin was involved in a long-term teaching and training agreement with University of Rennes 1, France. Her activities within the BoostEdu project are focused on development of digital education for engineering students in the field of quality management.
Jón Freyr Jóhannsson

Jón Freyr Jóhannsson

Associate Professor at the University of Bifröst
Lektor at Bifröst University. Jón Freyr works partly as teacher coach. His research interests include teaching methods, on-line teaching and learning and IT solutions for distance learning. He has for the last 30 years taught courses on such topics as Mathematics, DBMS theory, SQL, Project management, TQM, Operation Management, Health Informatics, Corporate Finance, e-Commerce and e-Government. Jón Freyr has got an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, a master’s degree in Business and a diploma in Education. Jón Freyr has written textbooks for use in computers science courses, system analysis and database management theory as well as textbooks for IT courses and quality management. Jón Freyr has work experience as an IT-manager both at Iceland University hospital and former Icelandic State and Municipal Data Centre, project manager in several companies, as a consultant in strategy planning, quality management and service management and other fields. In the BoostEdu project, professor Jóhannsson is developing digital innovations in mathematics courses for students who often pursue life-long learning.
Yuriy Rogovchenko

Yuriy Rogovchenko

Professor of mathematics at the University of Agder
Dr. Rogovchenko coordinates two educational projects, PLATINUM (Partnership for Learning and Teaching in University Mathematics, Erasmus+) and DeDiMaMo (Development of students’ mathematical competencies through Digital Mathematical Modeling, Eurasia 2019). He is a partner in the project CareWell (Cooperative Human Activity Recognition and Localization for Healthcare and Well-being) funded by the NFR. Prior to joining the Department of Mathematical Sciences at UiA in 2012 he held professor positions in Sweden (Kalmar University and Umeå University) and North Cyprus (Eastern Mediterranean University). Dr. Rogovchenko was a Regular Associate of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, during 2004-2011 and was awarded research stay at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach within RiP2003: Research in Pairs program. Dr. Rogovchenko was awarded CNR research scholarships (1993, 1995) and CNR‐NATO guest fellowship (1997). He is a recipient of Sørlandet kompetansefonds research award for 2016. His research activity in the BoostEdu project is oriented toward using eye-tracking equipment in digital education design and optimization.
Zdenka Konečná

Zdenka Konečná

Associate professor at the Faculty of Business and Management, Brno University of Technology
Founder and coordinator of the international event „Brno International Week“ at Faculty of Business and Management. Professor Konečná is a member of international scientific networks and organizations EIASM (European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management), IMDA International Management Development Association) and CESAER (European Association of Leading Specialized and Comprehensive Universities of Science and Technology). Her main area of expertise in research and pedagogical activities is strongly related to international management, organizational behaviour and leadership. She has participated in 17 research and international projects (e.g. "Impact of corporate culture on the efficiency of the multinational in the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary" or „Collaboration in Higher Education for Digital Transformation in European Business – CHEDTEB“) including Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships. In the BoostEdu project, professor Konečná conducts research on digital innovations of business and management courses, particularly in the area of sustainable leadership.
Kári Joensen

Kári Joensen

Assistant professor at Bifröst University’s Department of Business
Director of Bifröst University´s Research Institute. His current and recent involvement in Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Projects includes projects; INTERFACE (2017-1-IS01-KA204-026516) which aims to foster entrepreneurship and innovation to spur regional growth, iFEMPOWER (2018-1-HU01-KA203-047766) where a consortium of nine HEI and VET organizations is developing an entrepreneurship curricula primarily focusing on female entrepreneurs and the DT.Uni. (2017-1-PL01-KA203-038527) project that involves the current consortium, and aims to introduce design thinking methods into university teaching, research and management. He has taught distance learning, blended and campus-based courses in subjects such as statistics, economics and management. His work in the BoostEdu project is oriented toward development of digital innovations in learning and teaching statistics.
Mihai Caramihai

Mihai Caramihai

Professor at the Faculty of Automatic Control & Computer Science, University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest
Member of four Royal Societies and more than 25 professional bodies. Professor Caramihai is responsible for the study programme Engineering and Management of Business Systems at the Faculty of Automatic Control & Computer Science. He is certified by the Romanian Ministry of Justice as Court’s expert in the IT domain and was a project expert with the National Agency for Community Programmes in the Field of Education and Vocational Training (ANPCDEFP) for 18 years. He was involved in more than 60 national and international projects in the fields of education, institutional development and research (IT, biotechnology and health areas). His research activity in the BoostEdu project is oriented toward development of a complex course on IT application in the field of biotechnology, in particular modelling and control of aerobic bioprocesses.
Auðbjörg Jakobsdóttir

Auðbjörg Jakobsdóttir

Information Technology Service Manager at Bifröst University
Recently joined Bifröst University. For the past ten years Auðbjörg worked for the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in East Africa including Kenya, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and headed the IT department for the Coordination Office of the Ebola epidemic in Congo. She has developed and implemented software for the United Nations and the University of Iceland.
